Hadith 6419
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِِنَّ عِفْرِيتًا مِنَ الْجِنِّ جَعَلَ يَأْتِي الْبَارِحَةَ لِيَقْطَعَ عَلَيَّ صَلاتِي ، فَأَمْكَنَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ آخُذَهُ فَأَرْبِطَهُ إِِلَى سَارِيَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِيَ الْمَسْجِدِ حَتَّى تُصْبِحُوا ، فَتَنْظُرُوا إِِلَيْهِ كُلُّكُمْ " ، قَالَ : " ثُمَّ ذَكَرْتُ قَوْلَ أَخِي سُلَيْمَانَ : رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لا يَنْبَغِي لأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي سورة ص آية 35 " ، قَالَ : " فَرَدَّهُ اللَّهُ خَاشِعًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A strong demon from among the jinn came to me last night to spoil my prayer, but Allah enabled me to overpower him. At first, I intended to catch him and tie him to one of the pillars of the mosque so that all of you could see him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then I remembered the statement of my brother, Sayyiduna Sulaiman (peace be upon him): 'My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: So Allah made that devil return in disgrace."
