أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْقَزَّازُ بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلاقَةَ ، عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ طَارِقٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِِلا وَلَهُ شَيْطَانٌ " ، قَالُوا : وَلَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَلِي ، إِِلا أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَعَانَنِي عَلَيْهِ فَأَسْلَمَ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : هَكَذَا قَالَهُ بِالنَّصْبِ .
Sayyiduna Sharik bin Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Each one of you has a specific devil with him." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Is there one with you as well?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is one with me as well, but Allah Almighty helped me against him and he became a Muslim."
