Hadith 6415
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتَرَكَ عِنْدَنَا شَيْئًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ ، فَمَا زِلْنَا نَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى كَالَتْهُ الْجَارِيَةُ ، فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ فَنِيَ ، وَلَوْ لَمْ تَكِلْهُ ، لَرَجَوْتُ أَنْ يَبْقَى أَكْثَرُ " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, he left behind a small amount of barley in our house. We continued to eat from it. Then, one day, a maid measured it, and after that, it finished quickly. If the maid had not measured it, I hope it would have lasted for a longer time.
