Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) sent some fresh dates to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in a vessel through me. I did not find him at home. People informed me: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has gone nearby; he was at the house of a tailor who was his freed slave. He had prepared food for him, which included pumpkin and meat. The narrator says: I noticed that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) liked pumpkin, so I started placing it before him. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) returned to his home, so I placed that vessel before him. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) kept eating from it and also kept distributing it, until nothing was left in that vessel.
