Hadith 6333
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَهْمٍ الأَنْطَاكِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الأَسْقَعِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَى كِنَانَةَ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِِسْمَاعِيلَ ، وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ كِنَانَةَ قُرَيْشًا ، وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، وَاصْطَفَانِي مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ " .
Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, Allah Almighty selected Kinana from among the descendants of Sayyiduna Isma’il (peace be upon him), and from Kinana He selected Quraysh, and from Quraysh He selected Banu Hashim, and from Banu Hashim He selected me.”
