Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Muhajirun came from Makkah to Madinah, they arrived in such a state that they had nothing with them, whereas the Ansar had land and property. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates, so the Ansar agreed with them that every year they would give half the produce of their land to the Muhajirun, and the Muhajirun would work in their place. The narrator states: The mother of Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) presented some bunches of dates to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave them to his slave woman Umm Ayman, who was the mother of Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned to Madinah after being finished with the people of Khaybar, the Muhajirun returned the gifts to the Ansar which they had given them as gifts of fruit, etc. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also returned the bunches of dates to my mother, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave his own garden to Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) in its place.
