Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I saw in a dream that I was migrating from Makkah towards a land where there are gardens of date palms. My mind went towards thinking it could be Yamamah or Hajar, but it was Madinah, that is, Yathrib. I saw in the dream that I waved a sword and it broke. This refers to the loss suffered at the time of the Battle of Uhud. Then I waved it a second time and it became better than before. Through this is meant the victory and the gathering of the believers (i.e., the increase in their numbers) which Allah, the Exalted, granted."
