Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of Allah's Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I saw in a dream that I was migrating from Makkah towards a land of date palms. My mind went towards thinking it could be Yamamah or Hajar, but it was Madinah, that is, Yathrib. And I saw in the dream that I waved a sword and it broke. This refers to the loss suffered by the Muslims at the time of the Battle of Uhud. Then I waved the sword a second time and it came back in a better form than before. This refers to that which Allah the Exalted will grant in the form of war booty, and the gathering of the believers (i.e., their numbers increasing) is meant."
