Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: Count those people who have accepted Islam. The narrator says: I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Do you fear (for us), when our number is between six hundred and seven hundred?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You do not know, it may be that you will be put to trial." The narrator says: So we were put to trial. Each one of us could only perform prayer secretly.
