Hadith 6267
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " نِسَاءُ قُرَيْشٍ خَيْرُ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ الإِِبِلَ ، أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى طِفْلٍ ، وَأَرْعَاهُ عَلَى زَوْجٍ فِي ذَاتِ يَدِهِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى أَثَرِ ذَلِكَ : " وَلَمْ تَرْكَبْ مَرْيَمُ بِنْتُ عِمْرَانَ بَعِيرًا قَطُّ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The women of Quraysh are the best among the women who ride camels (i.e., Arab women); they are the most compassionate towards their children and take the greatest care of their husband's household." After this, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Lady Maryam bint Imran (may Allah be pleased with her) never rode a camel.
