Hadith 6264
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ وَدِيعَةَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الأَنْصَارُ أَعِفَّةٌ صُبُرٌ ، وَإِِنَّ النَّاسَ تَبَعٌ لِقُرَيْشٍ فِي هَذَا الأَمْرِ : مُؤْمِنُهُمْ تَبَعُ مُؤْمِنِهِمْ ، وَفَاجِرُهُمْ تَبَعُ فَاجِرِهِمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "The Ansar are people who refrain from asking and are patient. Indeed, people follow the Quraysh in matters of governance. The believers follow the Quraysh, and the sinners (i.e., disbelievers) follow the disbelievers of Quraysh."
