Hadith 6241
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى السِّخْتِيَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَالِيَةِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَمِّ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَا يَنْبَغِي لِعَبْدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ : أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى " ، نَسَبَهُ إِِلَى أَبِيهِ .
Abu Al-Aliyah narrates: I heard the cousin of the Prophet (peace be upon him) quoting the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying: "It is not appropriate for any servant to say that I am better than our master Yunus (peace be upon him)." (The narrator says:) The Prophet (peace be upon him) attributed him to his father.
