Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: In the year of the Battle of Tabuk, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) camped at the place of Hijr, near the area of the people of Thamud. The people drew water from the wells there, from which the people of Thamud used to drink. The people also put pots on the fire there and kneaded dough. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Turn over the pots and feed the dough to the camels." Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) departed from there until he camped at the place from which (the she-camel of Prophet Salih, peace be upon him) used to drink water. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Do not enter the area of this punished people, lest the same punishment that befell them befall you."
