Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When morning comes, Satan spreads out his army and says, 'Today, whoever misguides a Muslim, I will crown him.' The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: One of them comes and says, 'I tried my best today, until a man divorced his wife.' Satan says, 'It is possible that the man will marry again.' Then another comes and says, 'I tried my best today, until a man disobeyed his parents.' Satan says, 'It is possible that he will become obedient later.' Another Satan comes and says, 'I tried my best today so that a man committed shirk.' Satan says, 'You are truly the one.' Then another comes and says, 'I tried my best, until a man committed adultery.' Satan says, 'You have truly done the work.' Another comes and says, 'I tried my best today until a man committed murder.' So Satan says, 'You have truly done the work.' Then he places his crown upon him."
