Hadith 6156
أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهِبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ حُدَيْرِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " الْجِنُّ عَلَى ثَلاثَةِ أَصْنَافٍ : صِنْفٌ كِلابٌ وَحَيَّاتٌ ، وَصِنْفٌ يَطِيرُونَ فِي الْهَوَاءِ ، وَصِنْفٌ يَحُلُّونَ وَيَظْعَنُونَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There are three types of jinn: one type takes the form of dogs and snakes, one type flies through the air, and one type settles and moves about."
