Section on the Beginning of Creation - Allah’s reproach for those who disagreed with the Prophet about predestination
Hadith 6139
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ إِِسْمَاعِيلَ السَّهْمِيِّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ مُشْرِكُو قُرَيْشٍ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخَالِفُونَهُ فِي الْقَدَرِ ، فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ : إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلالٍ وَسُعُرٍ يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ سورة القمر آية 47 - 49 " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The polytheists of Quraysh used to dispute with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding the matter of destiny, so concerning this, the following verse was revealed: "Indeed, the criminals will be in error and Hellfire, the Day they are dragged on their faces into the Fire (it will be said): Taste the touch of Hell. Indeed, We have created everything according to a decree."
