Severe warning against choosing times and making judgments by astrology
Hadith 6130
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَتَّابُ بْنُ حُنَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ أَمْسَكَ اللَّهُ الْقَطْرَ عَنِ النَّاسِ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَهُ لأَصْبَحَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ بِهَا كَافِرِينَ ، يَقُولُونَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ الْمِجْدَحِ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : الْمِجْدَحُ : هُوَ الدَّبَرَانِ ، وَهُوَ الْمَنْزِلُ الرَّابِعُ مِنْ مَنَازِلِ الْقَمَرِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If Allah Almighty were to withhold rain from the people for seven years and then send it down, a group among those people would still deny (the truth) and say: ‘Rain has come to us because of the star Mujdah.’”
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Mujdah refers to ‘Dabaran’, and it is the fourth station among the lunar mansions.
