Section on Distant Relatives - Refuting those who claim a daughter’s son is not a child to her father
Hadith 6038
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَطَّانُ بِالرَّافِقَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ : بَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَخْطُبُ ، إِذْ أَقْبَلَ الْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ وَعَلَيْهِمَا قَمِيصَانِ أَحْمَرَانِ يَقُومَانِ وَيَعْثُرَانِ ، فَنَزَلَ إِلَيْهِمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخَذَهُمَا ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ سورة التغابن آية 15 " .
Abdullah bin Buraidah narrates from his father: Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was delivering a sermon. During this, Sayyiduna Imam Hasan and Sayyiduna Imam Husain (may Allah be pleased with them), who were children, came wearing red shirts. They would sometimes fall and sometimes stand up. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came down from the pulpit for both of them, took hold of them, and said (the command of Allah Almighty is): "Indeed, your wealth and your children are a trial."
