Section on Tribulations - The extent of tribulation affecting a person depends on their eagerness for it
Hadith 5959
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَتَكُونُ فِتَنٌ كَرِيَاحِ الصَّيْفِ ، الْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَائِمِ ، وَالْقَائِمٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْمَاشِي ، مَنِ اسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا ، اسْتَشْرَفَتْهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will come such tribulations which will be like the hot winds; in them, the one who is sitting will be better than the one who is standing, and the one who is standing will be better than the one who is walking. Whoever looks towards them, they will pull him towards themselves."
