Section on Tribulations - Clarification that those who flee tribulations are among the best people of that time
Hadith 5956
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي كُرْزٌ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ لِهَذَا الإِسْلامِ مِنْ مُنْتَهًى ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا مِنْ عَرَبٍ أَوْ عَجَمٍ أَدْخَلَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ مَاذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " ثُمَّ تَقَعُ فِتَنٌ كَالظُّلَمِ " ، قَالَ : كَلا وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَلَى وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَتَعُودُنَّ فِيهَا أَسَاوِدَ صُبًّا ، يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ ، فَخَيْرُ النَّاسِ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُؤْمِنٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنَ الشِّعَابِ ، يَتَّقِي اللَّهَ ، وَيَذَرُ النَّاسَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Karz Khuzai (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A Bedouin said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Will there be any end to this Islam? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, Allah Almighty will admit into Islam whomever He wills from among the Arabs and non-Arabs. The Bedouin said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then what will happen? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then there will come tribulations like darkness. That person said: Never, by Allah! O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! (This will not happen). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, by Him in Whose hand is my soul (it will happen), and you will again fall into such a situation that you will spread your hoods like snakes and begin to strike off each other's necks. In that time, the best person will be the believer who lives alone in a mountain pass, fears Allah Almighty, and keeps people safe from his own evil.
