Chapter on Tribulations – Warning against handing a drawn sword to a fellow Muslim
Hadith 5943
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِقَوْمٍ يَتَعَاطَوْنَ سَيْفًا بَيْنَهُمْ مَسْلُولا ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَمْ أَزْجُرْكُمْ عَنْ هَذَا لِيُغْمِدْهُ ، ثُمَّ يُنَاوِلْهُ أَخَاهُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some people who had drawn swords against each other, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Did I not forbid you from this? Sheathe them and meet your brother."
