Hadith 5933
Yazid, who was the servant of Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates: His wife Umm Sulaym asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the meat of the sacrificial animal. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied that Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) returned from a battle and went to his wife, who presented the meat of the sacrificial animal before him. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) refused to eat it until he had asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about it. (When he asked the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him,) the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You may eat it from one Dhul-Hijjah to the next Dhul-Hijjah.
