Hadith 5928
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أن النبي صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يَا أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، لا تَأْكُلُوا لُحُومَ الأَضَاحِيِّ فَوْقَ ثَلاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ " ، قَالَ : فَشَكَوْا إِلَيْهِ أَنَّ لَهُمُ عِيَالا وَخَدَمًا ، فَقَالَ : " كُلُوا وَأَطْعِمُوا ، وَاحْبِسُوا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people of Madinah, do not eat the meat of your sacrificial animals for more than three days. The narrator states: The people complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that they had children and servants, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Eat it, feed others with it, and also store it.
