Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had forbidden the consumption of sacrificial meat for more than three days, then he granted permission that we may eat it and store it as well. During this time, the brother of Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, Sayyiduna Qatadah bin Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived. People presented sacrificial meat before him, so he said: "Did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) not forbid this?" Then Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) informed him: "The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has issued a new ruling about this after you. Previously, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had forbidden us from keeping it for more than three days, then he granted permission that we may eat it and store it as well."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The female narrator named Zainab is the daughter of Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
