Hadith 5854
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُجَاهِدًا ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَتَيْتُكَ الْبَارِحَةَ ، فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَ الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي كُنْتَ فِيهِ إِلا أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ تِمْثَالُ رَجُلٍ ، وَكَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ سِتْرٌ فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ ، وَكَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ كَلْبٌ ، فَأَمَرَ بِرَأْسِ التِّمْثَالِ أَنْ يُقْطَعَ ، وَأَمَرَ بِالسِّتْرِ الَّذِي فِيهِ التِّمْثَالُ أَنْ يُقْطَعَ رَأْسُ التِّمْثَالِ ، وَجُعِلَ مِنْهُ وِسَادَتانِ ، وَأَمَرَ بِالْكَلْبِ فَأُخْرِجَ ، وَكَانَ الْكَلْبُ جَرْوًا لِلْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ تَحْتَ نَضَدٍ لَهُمْ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ ، فَمَا زَالَ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ ، حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibreel came to me and said: I came to you last night, but I could not enter your house because there was a picture of a man in the house." (The narrator says:) There was a curtain in the house on which a picture was made, and there was also a dog in the house. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the head of the picture be cut off, and regarding the curtain with pictures, he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the heads in the pictures be cut off, and that cushions be made from that cloth. According to his (peace and blessings be upon him) order, the dog was taken out; it was a puppy with which Sayyiduna Imam Hasan and Sayyiduna Imam Husain (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to play, and it was under their bed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then Jibreel came to me, and after that he continuously advised me about the neighbor until I thought he would make him an heir.
