Hadith 5851
Ubaidullah bin Abdullah narrates: He went to visit Sayyiduna Abu Talha Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) to inquire about his health. The narrator says: We found Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) with him. The narrator says: Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) called a person, who removed the bedding from beneath him. So Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him why he had removed it. He replied: There are pictures made on it, and you know what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said about them. So Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) not say that the ruling regarding designs made on cloth is different? So Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Yes, but I am removing it for my own satisfaction.
