Chapter on Names and Nicknames – Clarifying that “karam” refers to the heart of a Muslim man
Hadith 5833
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمَذَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَقُولُونَ : وَالْكَرَمُ ، وَإِنَّمَا الْكَرْمُ قَلْبُ الْمُؤْمِنِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "You people call (grapes) 'karm', whereas 'karm' is the heart of a believer."
