باب الأسماء والكنى - ذكر الأمر للمرء أن يحسن أسامي أولاده لنداء الملائكة في القيامة إياهم بها-
Chapter on Names and Nicknames – Command to choose good names for children, as angels will call them by these names on the Day of Judgment
Hadith 5818
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي زَكَرِيَّا ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ تُدْعَوْنَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِأَسْمَائِكُمْ وَأَسْمَاءِ آبَائِكُمْ ، فَحَسِّنُوا أَسْمَاءَكُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "On the Day of Resurrection, you will be called by your names and the names of your fathers, so keep good names for yourselves."
Hadith 5819
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " غَيَّرَ اسْمَ عَاصِيَةَ وَقَالَ : أَنْتِ جَمِيلَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) changed the name of a woman from Asiyah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: You are Jameelah.
