Chapter on Joking and Laughing – Permissibility of repeating words for emphasis
Hadith 5804
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ كَهْمَسِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " بَيْنَ كُلِّ أَذَانَيْنِ صَلاةٌ لِمَنْ شَاءَ " ، وَكَانَ ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Between the two calls to prayer (i.e., the adhan and the iqamah), prayer will be performed. This command is for the person who wishes (to perform prayer during this time)." (The narrator states) The narrator named Abdullah bin Buraidah used to perform two rak'ahs before Maghrib as well.
