Hadith 5798
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَزَعٌ ، فَاسْتَعَارَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَسًا لأَبِي طَلْحَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ : مَنْدُوبٌ ، فَرَكِبَهُ ، فَرَجَعَ ، وَقَالَ : " مَا رَأَيْنَا مِنْ فَزَعٍ ، وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَاهُ لَبَحْرًا " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once, fear spread in Madinah Munawwarah, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took Sayyiduna Abu Talhah’s (may Allah be pleased with him) horse for temporary use, whose name was Mandub. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rode it (and after circling Madinah Munawwarah) returned. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We did not see anything dangerous; we found (this horse in its speed) like the sea.
