Chapter on Cursing – The Prophet and other prophets cursing people for their actions
Hadith 5749
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالِ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَن ّرَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " سِتَّةٌ لَعَنْتُهُمْ ، وَلَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَكُلُّ نَبِيٍّ مُجَابٌ : الزَّائِدُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمُكَذِّبُ بِقَدَرِ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمُسَلَّطُ بِالْجَبَرُوتِ لِيُذِلَّ بِذَلِكَ مَنْ عَزَّ اللَّهُ ، وَلِيُعِزَّ بِهِ مَنْ أَذَلَّ اللَّهُ ، وَالْمُسْتَحِلُّ لِحَرَمِ اللَّهِ ، وَالْمُسْتَحِلُّ مِنْ عِتْرَتِي مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ ، وَالتَّارِكُ لِسُنَّتِي " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have cursed six types of people, and Allah Almighty has also cursed them, and every prophet whose supplication is accepted has cursed them: a person who adds to the Book of Allah; a person who denies Allah’s decree; a ruler who is imposed as an oppressor so that through his rule he humiliates the one whom Allah has honored and honors the one whom Allah has disgraced; a person who declares lawful what Allah has forbidden; a person who declares lawful regarding my family what Allah has declared unlawful; and a person who abandons my Sunnah.
