Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: He heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saying in the Fajr prayer after raising his head from bowing, "O our Lord, all praise is exclusively for You." This was in the second rak'ah. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Allah, send curse upon so-and-so and curse upon so-and-so." The Prophet (peace be upon him) supplicated against some people who were associated with the hypocrites, so Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: "You have nothing to do with this matter, whether Allah turns to them in mercy or punishes them; indeed, they are wrongdoers."
