Chapter on Cursing – Warning against cursing a fellow Muslim without a sin that warrants it
Hadith 5746
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ بِحَرَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ يُرْسِلُ إِلَى أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ ، قَالَ : وَرُبَّمَا بَاتَتْ عِنْدَهُ ، قَالَ : فَدَعَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ خَادِمًا فَأَبْطَأَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْهُ ، فَقَالَتْ لا تَلْعَنْهُ ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّعَّانَيْنَ لا يَكُونُونَ شُهَدَاءَ ، وَلا شُفَعَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
Zaid bin Aslam narrates: Abdul Malik sent a message to Sayyida Umm Darda (may Allah be pleased with her). The narrator states: That lady would sometimes stay with them. The narrator states: Abdul Malik called his servant, and when he was late in coming, Abdul Malik said: O Allah, curse him. That lady said: Do not curse him, for I heard Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, those who curse will neither be witnesses nor intercessors on the Day of Resurrection."
