Chapter on Lying – On the description of a woman who claims from her husband what he did not give her
Hadith 5738
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَتْ : أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَةٌ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ لِيَ ضَرَّةً ، فَهَلْ عَلَيَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ أَتَشَبَّعَ مِنْ زَوْجِي ، مَا لَمْ يُعْطِنِي ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمُتَشَبِّعُ بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَ كَلابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ " .
Sayyida Asma bint Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A woman came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), I have a co-wife. Will there be any sin on me if I show myself to be satisfied to my husband regarding something which he has not given me? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A person who shows himself to be satisfied regarding something which was not given to him is like one who wears two garments of falsehood.
