Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) never spoke falsely except three times, and even then, (he spoke) with double meaning; two times regarding Allah Almighty, when he said: "I am sick," and when he said: "Rather, the biggest of them did it." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) says: Once, he passed by a tyrant ruler, and with Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was his wife, Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her). The king was informed that there is a man here accompanied by a very beautiful woman. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) says: That man summoned Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) went to him, and when he was questioned, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said: "She is my (religious) sister." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) says: Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) came to Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her) and told her that the ruler had asked about her, and he had told him: "You are my sister, so in the Book of Allah you are my sister, so do not consider me a liar."
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) says: When the ruler saw Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her), he approached her. Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her) prayed for harm against him, so he was seized. The man said: "Pray to Allah for me; I promise I will not repeat this mistake." Then Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her) prayed for him, and he again tried to approach her. Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her) again prayed against him, and he was seized again, more severely than before. He said: "Pray to Allah for me; I promise I will not do this again." Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her) prayed for him again, and he again tried to approach her. Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her) again prayed for harm, and he was seized again, more severely than the previous two times. He said: "Pray to Allah for me; I promise I will not do this again." Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her) prayed for him, and he was cured. He said to his minister: "You did not bring a human to me; you brought a devil to me." Then he gave Sayyidah Hajarah (may Allah be pleased with her) as a servant to Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her). When Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) saw this woman, he asked: "Where did she come from?" Sayyidah Sarah (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: "Allah Almighty foiled the plot of the disbelieving sinner and gave Hajarah (may Allah be pleased with her) as a servant."
Whenever Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith, he would also say: "O people who are nourished by heavenly water, she is your mother." The narrator named Nadr would say these words in a loud voice.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The term "nourished by heavenly water" is used for the children of Sayyidah Hajarah (may Allah be pleased with her) because Sayyiduna Isma'il (peace be upon him) was the son of Sayyidah Hajarah (may Allah be pleased with her), and his upbringing was through the water of Zamzam, which is heavenly water. Through this, Allah Almighty honored Sayyiduna Isma'il (peace be upon him). At the time when his mother, Sayyidah Hajarah (may Allah be pleased with her), gave birth to him, his descendants are those who were nourished by heavenly water.
