Chapter on Disliked Listening, Suspicion, Anger, and Foul Speech – On the description of the vulgar person whom Allah dislikes
Hadith 5695
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ مَمْلَكٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَثْقَلَ مَا وُضِعَ فِي مِيزَانِ الْمُؤْمِنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ خُلُقٌ حَسَنٌ ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبْغِضُ الْفَاحِشَ الْبَذِيءَ " .
Sayyidah Umm Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “On the Day of Resurrection, the heaviest thing to be placed in the believer’s record of deeds will be good character, and indeed Allah Almighty dislikes the person who is foul-mouthed and uses obscene language.”
