Hadith 5688
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرْبِ بْنِ أَبِي الأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا غَضِبَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ ، فَلْيَجْلِسْ ، فَإِنْ ذَهَبَ عَنْهُ الْغَضَبُ ، وَإِلا فَلْيَضْطَجِعْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a person becomes angry and he is standing, he should sit down. If his anger subsides, then fine; otherwise, he should lie down."
