Chapter on Killing Animals – On the narration confirming that some house snakes are jinn in disguise
Hadith 5640
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى بِعَسْكَرِ مُكْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْحَيَّاتُ مِنْ مَسْخِ الْجَانِّ ، كَمَا مُسِخَتِ الْخَنَازِيرُ وَالْقِرَدَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Snakes are a deformed form of jinn, just as pigs and monkeys are deformed (creatures)."
