Chapter on Killing Animals – On the command to kill geckos as they are harmful
Hadith 5635
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَتْلِ الْوَزَغِ ، وَسَمَّاهُ فُوَيْسِقًا " .
Aamir bin Sa’d narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the killing of the lizard. He called it a small transgressor (animal).
