Section on Animals – On the Prophet’s curse on those who brand animals on the face
Hadith 5628
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى حِمَارٍ قَدْ وُسِمَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ وَسَمَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a donkey that had been branded on its face, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah curse the one who branded it.
