Hadith 5614
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّ نَمْلَةً قَرَصَتْ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ ، فَأَمَرَ بِقَرْيَةِ النَّمْلِ ، فَأُحْرِقَتْ ، فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ : أَنْ قَرَصَتْكَ نَمْلَةٌ أَهْلَكْتَ أُمَّةً مِنَ الأُمَمِ تُسَبِّحُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "An ant bit a prophet, so by his command, the colony of ants was set on fire. Then Allah Almighty revealed to him: 'An ant had bitten you, yet you destroyed an entire community that used to glorify (Allah).'"
