On another narration confirming the previous explanation
Hadith 5579
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَحْمُودٍ السَّعْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَيَانُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ : لا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتَ النَّبِيِّ إِلا أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ سورة الأحزاب آية 53 ، قَالَ : " بَنَي نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ ، فَصَنَعَ طَعَامًا ، فَأَرْسَلَنِي ، فَدَعَوْتُ رِجَالاً ، فَأَكَلُوا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ ، فَخَرَجَ ، فَأَتَى بَيْتَ عَائِشَةَ ، ثُمَّ تَبِعْتُهُ فَدَخَلَ ، فَوَجَدَ فِي بَيْتِهَا رَجُلَيْنِ ، فَلَمَّا رَآهُمَا رَجَعَ ، وَلَمْ يُكَلِّمْهُمَا ، فَقَامَا وَخَرَجَا ، وَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْحِجَابِ : يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتَ النَّبِيِّ إِلا أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَاظِرِينَ إِنَاهُ سورة الأحزاب آية 53 " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says regarding this verse (the command of Allah Almighty): "Do not enter the houses of the Prophet until permission is given to you for a meal." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had food prepared after marrying one of his noble wives (for the wedding feast). He sent me, and I brought some people. They ate the food, then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and went outside. He came to the house of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and I also followed him. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the house and found two men inside. When he saw them, he turned back and did not speak to them. Both of them got up and left the house. On this occasion, the verse regarding the command of hijab was revealed: "O you who believe! Do not enter the houses of the Prophet until permission is given to you for food, and you are not looking towards the utensils."
