Hadith 5538
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ الْمُعَلِّمُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا تَبَوَّأَ مَضْجَعَهُ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَفَانِي وَآوَانِي وَسَقَانِي ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي مَنَّ عَلَيَّ فَأَفْضَلَ ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَعْطَانِي فَأَجْزَلَ ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ ، اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ، وَمَالِكَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ، وَإِلَهَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ، لَكَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would lie down on his bed, he would recite: "All praise is due to Allah who has sufficed my needs, given me shelter, and quenched my thirst. All praise is due to Allah who, out of His kindness, has bestowed His grace upon me. All praise is due to Allah who, by giving to me, has given the best. All praise is due to Allah in every condition. O Allah! O Lord of everything, O Owner of everything, O Deity of everything, everything belongs to You. I seek Your protection from the Hellfire."
