Hadith 5531
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَحْيَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمُتَعَالِ بْنُ طَالِبٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، قَالَ : " لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِذَنْبِي ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ رَحْمَتَكَ ، اللَّهُمَّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا ، وَلا تُزِغْ قَلْبِي بَعْدَ أَنْ هَدَيْتَنِيَ ، وَهَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would wake up at night, he would recite this: "There is no deity except Allah. O Allah, You are pure; I seek forgiveness for my sin from You. I ask You for Your mercy. O Allah! Increase me in knowledge and do not let my heart deviate after You have guided me, and grant me mercy from Your bounty. Surely, You are the Great Bestower."
