Chapter on Etiquette of Sleep - What to Say When Lying Down to Sleep
Hadith 5522
أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ ، وَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى تَحْتَ خَدِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ ، يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ " .
Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would lie down on his bed, he would place his right blessed hand under his right blessed cheek and would recite: “O Allah, save me from Your punishment on the day when You will resurrect Your servants.”
