Chapter on Etiquette of Sleep - Recommendation to Wash Hands Before Sleeping at Night
Hadith 5521
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ بَاتَ وَفِي يَدِهِ غَمَرٌ ، فَعَرَضَ لَهُ عَارِضٌ ، فَلا يَلُومَنَّ إِلا نَفْسَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever goes to sleep while there is a smell of something on his hand, and then some harm befalls him, then he should blame himself."
