Hadith 5483
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي حَسَّانُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَائِرًا فِي مَنْزِلِنَا ، فَرَأَى رَجُلاً شَعْثًا ، فَقَالَ : " أَمَا كَانَ هَذَا يَجِدُ مَا يُسَكِّنُ بِهِ شَعْرَهُ ، وَرَأَى رَجُلاً عَلَيْهِ ثِيَابٌ وَسِخَةٌ ، فَقَالَ : أَمَا كَانَ هَذَا يَجِدُ مَا يَغْسِلُ بِهِ ثَوْبَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to our house to visit us. He saw a man with disheveled hair, so he asked: Does he not find something with which he can arrange his hair? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man wearing dirty clothes. He asked: Does he not find something with which he can wash his clothes?
