Clarification That the Number in Ibn Umar's Report Does Not Exclude Others
Hadith 5479
أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مَعْمَرًا ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَمْسٌ مِنَ الْفِطْرَةِ : قَصُّ الشَّارِبِ ، وَنَتْفُ الإِبِطِ ، وَتَقْلِيمُ الأَظْفَارِ ، وَالاسْتِحْدَادُ ، وَالْخِتَانُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Five things are part of natural disposition: trimming the moustache, removing the hair from the armpits, cutting the nails, removing the hair below the navel, and circumcision."
Hadith 5480
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْفِطْرَةُ خَمْسٌ : الاخْتِتَانُ ، وَالاسْتِحْدَادُ ، وَقَصُّ الشَّارِبِ ، وَتَقْلِيمُ الأَظْفَارِ ، وَنَتْفُ الإِبِطِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "There are five acts of natural disposition: circumcision, removing the pubic hair, trimming the moustache, cutting the nails, and removing the hair from the armpits."
Hadith 5481
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْفِطْرَةُ خَمْسٌ : تَقْلِيمُ الأَظْفَارِ ، وَقَصُّ الشَّارِبِ ، وَالاسْتِحْدَادُ ، وَالْخِتَانُ ، وَنَتْفُ الإِبِطِ " .
