Hadith 5442
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْوَزِيرِ أَبُو الْمُطَرِّفِ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَذَ بِحُجْزَةِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُهَيْلٍ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا سُفْيَانُ ، لا تُسْبِلْ إِزَارَكَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْمُسْبِلِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Mughira bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) hold Sayyiduna Sufyan bin Abu Suhail (may Allah be pleased with him) by his side and say: “O Sufyan! Do not let your lower garment hang (below the ankles), for Allah Almighty will not look with mercy at those who let (their garments) hang below the ankles.”
