Hadith 5389
أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ فُلَيْحِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلاً مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ إِلَى جَانِبِهِ مَاءٌ فِي رَكِيٍّ ، فَقَالَ : " أَعِنْدَكُمْ مَاءٌ بَاتَ فِي شَنٍّ ، وَإِلا كَرَعْنَا فِي هَذَا " ، فَأُتِيَ بِمَاءٍ ، وَحُلِبَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَشَرِبَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ : هُنَاكَ فُلَيْحٌ ، اذْهَبْ فَاسْمَعْهُ مِنْهُ ، فَلَقِيتُ فُلَيْحًا ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْهُ ، فَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ ، كَمَا حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : إِسْمَاعِيلُ هَذَا : هُوَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، لَمْ يَذْكُرْهُ فِي كِتَابِنَا هَذَا فِي هَذَا الْمَوْضِعِ احْتِجَاجًا مِنَّا بِهِ ، وَاعْتِمَادُنَا فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ عَلَى مَنْصُورِ بْنِ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ؛ لأَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ فُلَيْحٍ ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ قَدْ ذَكَرْنَا السَّبَبَ فِي تَرْكِهِ فِي كِتَابِ الْمَجْرُوحِينَ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called an Ansari man who had a water-skin by his side. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you have water that has remained in the water-skin since the night? Otherwise, we will drink from this flowing water." Water was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which milk had been mixed, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) drank it. The narrator named Mansur says: After that, the narrator named Ismail said to me: Faleeh, the narrator, is here. Go and listen to this hadith from him. Mansur says: So I met Faleeh. I asked him about this hadith, and he narrated it to me in the same way as Ismail had narrated it.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Ismail is Ismail bin Ayash. We have mentioned him in our book only in this place so that inference may be drawn from it; otherwise, in this narration, our reliance is on the narrator Mansur bin Abu Muzahim, because he heard this hadith from both Faleeh and Ismail. And we have explained the reason for declaring Ismail unreliable in the book al-Majruheen.
